Our First Success Story

David Gaskell walked past our cart in November 1999. He watched Eugene demonstrating the vanishing handkerchief. He walked away, could not believe what he saw and had to come back to see it again.

After spending 5 minutes with Eugene, David walked away with his first magic collection and became a member of the club.

He then attended his first club night and was hooked completely on magic. It wasn't long before he persuaded Tamara to become his assistant and videoed their first ever show, then he sent it to Eugene for constructive criticism, which he took on board.

He then became heavily involved with the club working with the junior members and turned semi-professional working under the stage name of "The Great Mephisto"

Tamara started to get interested in magic and it wasn't long before she was putting together her own act and was soon performing and impressing many senior members of the club.

Since these early days David and Tamara have put together a cabaret act and with it won the Magic Club of Great Britain Stage Competition 2002.

David has turned professional and is performing in the "Magic, Mystery and Illusion Show".
