National Sports Week - 26th to 30th June 2017
'I Can Do It' - Motivational Show
The Derek Redmond Motivational Masterclass has been our biggest success in educational shows.
The Masterclass was developed for upper schools in conjunction with School Sports Partnership with support from Aim Higher, Healthy Schools and the Eastern Region Gifted & Talented Partnership. The show is about Derek Redmond former 400m World Champion and is called 'I Can Do It'. Unforgettable Moments - a Survey taken of the most memorable moments in Olympic history and the top 10 included just one British performance. It was not the epic triumph of Sebastian Coe or the 100m glory of Linford Christie. It was Derek Redmond and he came last. In the light of the success Derek has filmed his talk so it can be offered to Primary Schools. Eugene Matthias is the host of the show, it starts with a game show called the 5 Keys to Success, were a pupil is SUCCESSFUL and wins £5.00. The game show is used to introduce the Key Messages for the day - Self Belief / Commitment / Planning / Motivation & Teamwork. The Masterclass sees Derek overcame massive odds to achieve success for himself and his country. One young persons struggle of commitment and dedication to reach the top, win an Olympic Gold Medal and finally become a World Champion. Derek appears on video and takes everyone on a very moving and wonderful story of one person's belief in himself. He explains that with the combined messages of Self Belief, Commitment, Planning, Motivation & Teamwork you can make many things happen. He then shows how the British team won the world championship against all the odds. The show comes to an end with a pupil using Self Belief to the impossible happen! |
